This summer provided him with his long-awaited breakthrough. Following the departure of Mads Hermansen to West Ham and the exits of Daniel Iversen and Danny Ward, a clear pathway finally opened for Stolarczyk to stake his claim in the senior side.

Manager Marti Cifuentes duly placed his trust in him, and the 24-year-old has started every game of the season so far.

Stolarczyk has responded well, recording three clean sheets in his first six matches. While he has produced some key saves, there are still elements of his game that need refinement—an entirely natural situation for a relatively inexperienced keeper.

On reported wages of around £10,000 a week, he is now benefiting from consistent playing time and gradually building confidence at Championship level.

However, football at this level is unforgiving. Leicester are under immense pressure to achieve immediate promotion, and the link to Trafford underlines how quickly circumstances can change.

Even with his encouraging performances, Stolarczyk may find himself replaced if the club see an opportunity to bring in a more established option.
