MOT View: Leeds Fans May Demand Transfer Refund After Today’s Performance

Jayden Bogle Has Struggled to Settle at Leeds United Since His Move from Sheffield United

Fans are directing their frustration at Daniel Farke’s defense after Leeds United conceded six goals in their first two matches of the 2024/25 season.

They drew 3-3 with Portsmouth and then lost 3-0 to Middlesbrough.

Jayden Bogle, who was signed for £5 million to replace Archie Gray at right-back, was expected to be a key player for the team.

However, the 24-year-old has yet to live up to those expectations.

In the season opener against Portsmouth, Bogle nearly cost Leeds all three points by conceding a penalty in the second minute of stoppage time, which Callum Lang converted.

Fortunately, Brenden Aaronson’s late goal salvaged a draw for Leeds.

Bogle was benched for the match against Middlesbrough, during which Leeds were eliminated from the EFL Cup.

He returned to the starting lineup for the match against West Brom on August 17, but his performance was underwhelming.

He received an early yellow card for failing to handle Tom Fellows effectively down the right flank.

Given Leeds’ significant investment in Bogle and their only other major signing, Joe Rodon, who cost £10 million, fans are understandably concerned about Bogle’s performance.

Although Sam Byram can fill in at right-back, he is more suited to the opposite flank, leaving Farke with limited options if he needs to make a change.

The hope is that Bogle will eventually adjust to the tactics at Elland Road and settle into his role, but for now, his struggles continue to be a point of concern for Leeds United supporters.
