Edouard, Buonanotte, El Khannouss – Leicester City Injury and Team News Updates Before Everton Showdown

Odsonne Edouard is set to make his Leicester City debut this Saturday at 3 pm, following a frustrating wait due to the fixture schedule.

The striker, signed on loan from Crystal Palace on deadline day, is expected to be named on the bench for the match against Everton, serving as a backup for Jamie Vardy.

Vardy has played the full 90 minutes in each of the past two games, but Edouard is likely to be considered as a second-half substitute to inject fresh energy into City’s attack.

Edouard’s debut has been delayed for several reasons.

He joined the team too late to be involved in the match against Aston Villa, then an international break further postponed his first appearance.

Last weekend, he was ineligible to play against his parent club, Crystal Palace, due to the terms of his loan agreement. However, he is now available for selection.

Leicester City manager Steve Cooper recently expressed his excitement about having Edouard in the squad, while acknowledging the striker’s frustration over the delay in his debut.

“Odsonne is eager to play, but the loan agreement prevented him from featuring.

We’re excited to introduce him when the opportunity arises.

We now have strong competition within the squad, which will drive the players to perform at their best,” Cooper said.

If Edouard is included in the squad for the Everton match, another player will likely have to miss out.

In last weekend’s game against Palace, players such as Kasey McAteer, Jannik Vestergaard, Luke Thomas, and Will Alves were left out of the matchday squad.

With Cooper’s team now boasting depth in every position, competition for places is fierce.

As things stand, only two players—Patson Daka and Jakub Stolarczyk—will be unavailable this weekend, as both are still recovering from ankle surgeries.

Cooper’s team selection will be closely watched, particularly in attacking midfield.

Facundo Buonanotte was absent from the starting lineup last weekend due to a midweek scan, but he is in contention for a return against Everton.

Meanwhile, Bilal El Khannouss, Leicester’s £20m summer signing, will have his first full week of training, having missed most of the early sessions due to his late arrival and international duty with Morocco.

He too could be a candidate for the starting lineup this Saturday.
