We are now just four weeks away from the highly anticipated undisputed heavyweight title bout between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk, and the official undercard for the historic clash has been confirmed.
Saudi Arabia, known for its impressive boxing events, particularly the ‘Day of Reckoning’ in December, has once again delivered a star-studded bill for the February show. Two additional world title bouts have been added to the undercard.
Jai Opetaia (24-0), who vacated his IBF Cruiserweight Title in December for a bout against Ellis Zorro, will face Mairis Briedis (28-2) in a rematch. Briedis, seeking redemption after his defeat to Opetaia in July 2022, will look to avenge his second career loss.
Joe Cordina (17-0) will defend his IBF Super-Featherweight Crown for the second time against Anthony Cacace (21-1), the IBO World Champion from Belfast. Cordina, with an undefeated record, aims to maintain his championship status against Cacace, who fights outside the United Kingdom for the first time.
In Bulgaria, light heavyweight legend Sergey Kovalev (35-4-1) is set to return to the ring against Sweden’s Robin Safar (16-0). Additionally, featherweight contender Isaac Lowe (24-2-3), Tyson Fury’s cousin, will face Afghanistan’s prospect Hasibullah Ahmadi (16-1).
Unbeaten heavyweights Bakhodir Jalolov (14-0) and Moses Itauma (7-0) are also on the card, looking to extend their impressive runs since turning professional. While opponents for these heavyweights are yet to be announced, Itauma has been ordered for a fight with English Heavyweight Champion Solomon Dacres.
Lastly, New Zealand’s towering six-foot-six cruiserweight contender, David Nyika (8-0), aims for an eighth knockout win against an as-yet-unnamed opponent.
The night of boxing kicks off with the highly-anticipated showdown between Tyson Fury (34-0-1) and Oleksandr Usyk (21-0) on February 17, live on TNT Sports Box Office.
