Spurs Eye Star Midfielder Targeted by Man City as Potential De Bruyne Successor

Tottenham Hotspur Set to Compete with Premier League Rivals, Including Local Foes, for Highly-Touted European Star.

A transfer battle could be brewing over Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Georgiy Sudakov, according to Football Insider.

The 22-year-old has been making headlines with his impressive performances over the last 18 months, and this season alone, he’s scored seven goals and provided two assists in just eight league games (Transfermarkt).

Both Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal have reportedly taken notice of Sudakov’s form and are conducting due diligence on the player ahead of a potential move.

However, the race for Sudakov’s signature could intensify, with other Premier League giants also interested.

Manchester City are said to be eyeing him as a potential long-term replacement for Kevin De Bruyne, while Liverpool are also monitoring his progress.

Sudakov’s experience in the Champions League further boosts his appeal to these top English clubs.

Despite the rising interest, securing a deal for Sudakov might prove challenging. Football Insider notes that Shakhtar Donetsk are notoriously tough negotiators and have already ruled out a January sale.

With Sudakov under contract until 2028, any transfer would likely require a significant fee, making a move more feasible in the summer.

Additionally, some Premier League clubs may hesitate to commit a large sum for Sudakov due to concerns about how he might adapt to the physical demands of English football.
