Following Tottenham’s recent defeat at Selhurst Park, pressure had been building on manager Ange Postecoglou, and a Carabao Cup exit could have worsened things for the Australian.

However, Spurs responded with a strong performance against the Premier League champions, proving they can compete with top teams when they play at their best.

Tottenham claimed a well-earned 2-1 victory and now advance to face Manchester United at home, with a semifinal spot in the Carabao Cup on the line.

Several Spurs players shone in the match, particularly Dejan Kulusevski, who assisted both goals, and Radu Dragusin, who was solid defensively.

Yet, what would likely have pleased Postecoglou most was the collective team effort, as players supported each other and showed commitment.

Postecoglou also praised Destiny Udogie, who impressed after coming on for the injured Micky van de Ven.

Speaking to the club’s channel, Postecoglou remarked, “Destiny stepped in and played another game, and I thought he was outstanding when he came on.”

Udogie’s Standout Performance

While Destiny Udogie has had a mixed season, the 21-year-old showcased his talent on Wednesday with a composed performance.

The former Udinese player was strong defensively and consistently supported Timo Werner with his dynamic overlaps on the left.

Udogie played 76 minutes and, according to TBR Football, completed 17 of his 19 passes from a total of 40 touches.

The Italy international also contributed with two interceptions and two clearances, highlighting his well-rounded display.
