“‘Tough for me’: TalkSPORT pundit shares prediction for Leeds United’s visit to Millwall”
Simon Jordan shares his views on Millwall’s recent form and their chances of securing a result against Leeds United.
Neil Harris’ team enters the match riding a wave of three consecutive wins, moving them from the relegation zone to just outside the Championship’s top six.
Historically, Leeds hasn’t had the best track record at The Den.
Last season’s 3-0 victory marked their first away win at Millwall since 2012, ending a six-game winless streak on Millwall’s home turf.
However, this current Millwall side is in a far stronger position.
Since Harris took charge in February, only Leeds (47 points) has earned more points than Millwall (45) in the Championship.
Harris has not shied away from discussing the significance of this matchup with Leeds, emphasizing it as their biggest game of the season.
Both clubs are in excellent form heading into this clash. While Millwall has enjoyed recent success, Leeds also remains on a strong unbeaten streak, with their only loss of the season occurring eight matches ago at Elland Road against Burnley.
Given the rivalry between the teams, this may be Leeds’ toughest challenge yet, even after facing formidable opponents like Sunderland and Sheffield United in October.
With Sheffield United’s recent win at Bristol City, only a victory will push Leeds back into the Championship’s top two.
Ahead of the match, talkSPORT pundit Simon Jordan expressed confidence in Leeds’ chances, despite Millwall’s recent form.
He stated, “It’s very difficult for me to observe on Millwall as a South London rival of Crystal Palace with any great degree of enthusiasm, but I think Leeds will get a result.
I don’t think Millwall are in any great shape just because they’re eighth in the Championship. Leeds are going great guns, aren’t they?”
Another pundit, EFL analyst Sam Parkin, also weighed in, predicting a narrow Leeds victory but acknowledged the challenge Millwall will pose to Daniel Farke’s team.
Parkin noted, “I think Millwall have been excellent. They are up to seventh, aren’t they? Which is incredible. They are looking really creative as well.
I think the numbers early in the season indicate that they are a much better attacking force with their new-look offense.
I think they will score, but it’s difficult for the lads to raise themselves time and time again when you don’t have the depth of maybe a Leeds and other teams they are battling against.
I will go for Leeds, narrowly, with a 2-1 away win.”
In summary, while Millwall is in strong form and improving as an attacking unit, Leeds’ momentum and depth make them the favorite in this closely contested fixture.
Both pundits predict a competitive match, with Leeds likely to edge out Millwall by a slim margin.
