Current manager Steve Cooper attributed the defeat to a troubling lack of belief and motivation within the squad.
In response, some Leicester fans are now calling for Cooper’s dismissal during the international break.
If the club’s board decides to take decisive action, here are three potential replacements they might consider:
Graham Potter
Currently without a club, Graham Potter would be a logical choice for Leicester.
Potter, who previously managed Swansea City before Cooper took over there, found success at Brighton, leading them to a then-record 9th-place finish in the Premier League.
Although his tenure at Chelsea was brief and less successful, lasting only 31 games, Potter’s tactical ability and familiarity with the Premier League make him an appealing option.
Leicester reportedly considered him over the summer but ultimately chose Cooper.
David Moyes
Another option is David Moyes, a Scottish manager with extensive experience, most recently at West Ham United, where he enjoyed one of his most successful periods.
Moyes guided West Ham to a Europa Conference League victory, defeating Eintracht Frankfurt in the final.
Known as a specialist in keeping teams afloat in the Premier League, Moyes has only faced relegation once—in the 2016/17 season with Sunderland.
His track record of stability could be valuable for Leicester in their current predicament.
Edin Terzic
For a more ambitious approach, Leicester might consider Edin Terzic, previously linked to the club after his time at Borussia Dortmund.
In the 2023/24 season, Terzic led Dortmund to the Champions League final, ultimately losing to Real Madrid.
Although his managerial career spans only four years, his success in Europe and his proven tactical expertise suggest he could adapt well to the Premier League.
