“West Ham Could Dismiss Julen Lopetegui Within Days”

Report: West Ham United Could Dismiss Julen Lopetegui This Week

West Ham’s leadership is reportedly “unhappy” with Julen Lopetegui’s start as manager, as he has only secured four wins in fourteen matches across all competitions.

There’s speculation he could be dismissed during the current international break.

On Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Keith Wyness, former CEO of Everton and now a football consultant, disclosed information from “close sources at West Ham” indicating that Lopetegui’s position is at immediate risk.

The 0-0 draw against Everton, managed by Sean Dyche, led to boos from fans at London Stadium, with many supporters suggesting it was enough to warrant Lopetegui’s dismissal.

With no game scheduled until the team faces Newcastle in eleven days—sixteen days after their last match against Everton—the timing for a managerial change seems ideal.

However, despite dissatisfaction from club owner David Sullivan, who invested heavily in the squad over the summer, Lopetegui is expected to remain in charge over the international break and is likely to be on the sidelines for the Newcastle game.

The probable scenario is that Lopetegui will be given until Christmas to improve the club’s performance at London Stadium.

Nonetheless, the possibility of his dismissal within just three months remains a potential outcome.
