Facundo Buonanotte Backed as Long-Term Successor to Argentina Star

Leicester City’s Facundo Buonanotte: A Future Star Poised for International Success

Facundo Buonanotte has emerged as Leicester City’s standout performer this season, contributing three goals and two assists.

His efforts have been pivotal in lifting the Foxes to 15th in the Premier League standings.

The 19-year-old’s impressive form has also earned him a call-up to Argentina’s national squad for their October and November fixtures.

While he didn’t make an appearance in La Albiceleste’s recent matches, Buonanotte is already being hailed as a potential successor to one of Argentina’s most beloved footballing icons in recent history.

Angel Di Maria Sees Buonanotte as His Successor

Angel Di Maria, a legendary figure in Argentine football, has openly endorsed Buonanotte as his long-term heir.

Di Maria, widely regarded as one of the finest players to represent Argentina since the early 2000s, boasts an illustrious career.

He played a crucial role in Argentina’s 2022 World Cup triumph, secured two Copa America titles, and earned 145 international caps before retiring from national duty in the summer.

At the club level, Di Maria has been equally successful, having played for elite teams such as Real Madrid, Manchester United, and Paris Saint-Germain.

Buonanotte’s Absence for Leicester’s Clash with Chelsea

Leicester City faces the challenge of playing without Buonanotte in their upcoming fixture against Chelsea.

The teenager is suspended after receiving his fifth yellow card of the Premier League season during the recent match against Manchester United.

Leicester hosts Chelsea on Saturday, November 23, at 1:30 PM.

Buonanotte’s absence will be keenly felt, as he has been instrumental in the Foxes’ two league wins this season, scoring in both victories against Bournemouth and Southampton.

With Jordan Ayew and Abdul Fatawu both doubtful, Wilfred Ndidi is expected to step into the number 10 role.

Meanwhile, Bilal El Khannouss is likely to replace Buonanotte on the right flank.

Buonanotte is set to return for Leicester’s clash with Brentford the following week, offering the Foxes a much-needed boost.
