With the K-League season now concluded, Yang Min-hyuk is set to enjoy a brief break before traveling to London in mid-December to join the Tottenham Hotspur squad.

The 18-year-old is coming off a remarkable debut season in professional football, recording 12 goals and six assists for Gangwon FC.

Arriving in North London, Yang will bring plenty of confidence but faces a steep learning curve as he transitions to a higher level of competition.

Aiming to Follow in Son Heung-min’s Footsteps

Yang has no illusions about the challenges ahead. He has sought advice from Son Heung-min on adapting to life in the Premier League and acknowledges the difficulties of adjusting to a new league and culture.

The young winger revealed that he has been taking English lessons and is eager to wear a Spurs jersey on the field as soon as possible.

Speaking through journalist Joel Kim, Yang shared: “I want to be like Son Heung-min at Tottenham, especially when it comes to his shooting and finishing skills.

I’ve been taking regular English lessons, but since I still use Korean more than English, I have my limitations.

However, I’m committed to building a foundation and learning through challenges.”

He added, “Son told me playing in the EPL is not easy. Adjusting to a culture different from Korea after moving to London will be crucial.

My goal is to adapt quickly and play in matches for Tottenham as soon as possible.”

Patience Will Be Key for Yang Min-hyuk

Despite his talent, Yang faces a significant step up and will need time to adapt to life at Spurs.

Similar to Lucas Bergvall, who is also finding his feet at Tottenham, Yang is likely to be eased into the team gradually.

Fans should temper expectations, as the South Korean winger might not see much game time during his initial months at the club.
