Tottenham Hotspur could enter the race to sign PSV Eindhoven star Malik Tillman in the coming months, although a move for the German-born midfielder may have to wait until the summer.
Tillman initially joined PSV on loan before making his transfer permanent in August for a fee of around £10 million.
Since then, the 22-year-old has been a standout performer, scoring nine goals last season and already netting eight times in all competitions this campaign.
His impressive form has reportedly caught the attention of Tottenham, as well as Aston Villa.
Tottenham and Villa Interested in Tillman
According to Florian Plettenberg, both Tottenham and Aston Villa have made “concrete enquiries” regarding Tillman ahead of a potential move in the January transfer window.
The versatile midfielder has been a key figure for PSV this season, contributing eight goals and four assists in just 20 appearances.
His performances include a crucial late brace against Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League, helping PSV secure a vital win.
Though Tillman views the Premier League as a long-term goal, a January transfer appears unlikely.
His release clause, reportedly valued between £25 million and £33 million, only becomes active at the end of the season.
Previous Success in UK Football
Tillman is no stranger to football in the UK, having spent a successful loan spell at Rangers.
During his time at the Scottish club, he earned praise as a “phenomenal” talent, tallying 12 goals and five assists in 43 appearances.
While Bayern Munich holds a buy-back option and matching rights on Tillman, the Bundesliga giants reportedly have no plans to exercise them due to the emergence of stars like Jamal Musiala and Michael Olise.
This could leave the door open for Tottenham and Villa to pursue the American international.

Tillman has been a revelation for PSV, with 17 goals and 19 assists in just 59 matches for the Eredivisie leaders.
At just 22, his potential and consistency suggest he could thrive in the Premier League, making him an exciting prospect for any interested clubs at the end of the season.
