“‘He’s Ready’: Ange Postecoglou Hints at Selecting £30m Tottenham Player Absent Since 2022”
"Tottenham Hotspur Face Ongoing Injury Challenges, Testing Squad Depth"

Tottenham’s Premier League campaign has had a mixed start, with Ange Postecoglou’s side still competing across all fronts despite facing challenges.
Balancing three competitions has been difficult, especially with several key players sidelined due to injuries.
Micky van de Ven is progressing well in his rehabilitation at Hotspur Way, but other regular starters remain unavailable.
Cristian Romero, for instance, is recovering from a foot injury and has yet to resume training on the pitch.
These setbacks may force Postecoglou to delve deeper into his squad for solutions during this testing period.
Sergio Reguilon Ready to Step In
Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday morning, Postecoglou confirmed that Sergio Reguilon is an option if needed.
Despite limited involvement in recent seasons, the left-back remains part of the squad.
“He’s ready [if needed],” Postecoglou said. “He’s training every day and is part of the group.
There’s also a reason why Reggy is in the last year of his contract with us. We’ll see how that all unfolds.

“There’s nothing wrong with his attitude, and he’s been training consistently with us.”
Reguilon, who hasn’t played for Spurs since 2022, attracted interest from Sevilla in January after failing to secure a move away during the summer.
Barcelona also reportedly showed interest, but the Spaniard remains in north London without any minutes across competitions this season.
Djed Spence Back in Contention
While Destiny Udogie has solidified his spot at left-back, squad rotation will be crucial for Tottenham as they navigate the busy schedule.
Djed Spence has been reintroduced into the fold after returning from two loan spells last season.
The club demonstrated its belief in Spence by offering him a new contract earlier this season, and he impressed Postecoglou during pre-season matches.
The manager hinted that opportunities might arise for the full-back in the coming weeks.
“Particularly between now and Christmas, opportunities may come up for him.
He almost got on at the weekend, but the red card changed things,” Postecoglou explained.
“The key for Djed is to keep training well, stay focused, and be ready to seize the opportunity when it comes.”
With Tottenham facing a hectic festive period, Spence could see some much-needed minutes on the pitch if he continues to work hard in training.
Squad Depth Key for Tottenham
As injuries take their toll, Tottenham will need to rely on players like Reguilon and Spence to step up.
Both defenders may play a vital role in ensuring the team remains competitive across all competitions during this demanding phase of the season.
