Josh Keeley has been impressing on loan with Leyton Orient this season, earning him a strong chance of securing a Championship loan move next year.
In contrast, despite being considered one of Tottenham’s most talented young goalkeepers, Luca Gunter has yet to gain any experience in senior men’s football.
John Wenham, owner of Lilywhite Rose, told Tottenham News in an exclusive interview that the 19-year-old must go out on loan in January to match Keeley’s progress.
“Gunter absolutely needs to leave on loan,” Wenham stated.
“Brandon Austin and Alfie Whiteman are both ahead of him in the pecking order.
Between now and the end of the season, the best option for Gunter is to play senior men’s football.
“Keeley could return to Tottenham with over 50 senior games, while Gunter has none. He needs to start playing, plain and simple.”

Tottenham boasts several promising young goalkeepers, though the number one spot appears to be firmly held by Guglielmo Vicario for now.
With Fraser Forster likely to depart at the end of the season, the young goalkeepers will aim to secure the backup role.
At the moment, Keeley seems to be leading the race, although Gunter, being a few years younger, still has time to develop and make an impression on manager Ange Postecoglou.
However, he must act quickly. If Keeley continues progressing at this pace, it could become increasingly difficult for Gunter to surpass him in the pecking order.
