West Ham's Levi Laing completes eight appearances during Cheltenham Town loan spell
Defender Levi Laing has officially returned to West Ham United following a loan spell at Cheltenham Town during the first half of the season.
The 21-year-old made eight appearances for the Robins, including three starts in League Two.
However, his loan tenure was hindered by a knee injury sustained during Cheltenham’s 2-1 victory at Colchester United on October 19.
After recovering, his sole appearance was as a late substitute in the 1-1 home draw against Port Vale on December 3.
Cheltenham has also seen forward Manni Norkett and left-sided defender Lewis Shipley return to their parent clubs, Nottingham Forest and Norwich City, respectively, after completing their loan periods at Whaddon Road.
Meanwhile, the club has yet to decide on the future of right-back Lewis Payne, who has featured 22 times under manager Michael Flynn this season.
Flynn is keen to retain two other loanees—Bradford City central defender Sam Stubbs and Cardiff City attacking midfielder Joel Colwill—for the remainder of the campaign.
Colwill, in particular, has been instrumental for Cheltenham, emerging as the team’s top scorer with nine goals so far this season.
