West Ham target Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford but face financial obstacles as Graham Potter eyes attacking reinforcements
West Ham United have expressed interest in signing Marcus Rashford from Manchester United, though financial obstacles could complicate the move.
The Hammers, who officially appointed Graham Potter as their new manager on Thursday, are struggling in attacking areas.
They are currently without captain and leading scorer Jarrod Bowen, sidelined for another five weeks due to a fractured foot.
Additionally, Michail Antonio is unavailable for the remainder of the season following a car accident last month, which left him with a broken leg.
The financial implications of signing Rashford present a significant challenge for West Ham.
Manchester United is seeking £40 million for the forward, whose contract runs until 2028 following an extension in 2023.
A loan deal could depend on how much of Rashford’s reported £325,000 weekly wages United are willing to cover, as well as the loan fee and any obligation to buy.
Rashford’s future remains uncertain, as his agent and brother, Dwaine Maynard, has been actively exploring options.
On Wednesday, Maynard met with Juventus officials, while earlier in the week, he held preliminary discussions with AC Milan.

Meanwhile, Serie A side Como, currently managed by former Arsenal and Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas, has reportedly expressed interest.
Como, ranked 10th in the league, shares a Manchester United connection through former defender Raphael Varane, who joined the club’s board after retiring earlier this season.
