The French outlet reported on Sunday (19 January) that Ligue 1 side PSG have long anticipated West Ham activating their £16.9m buy option for the 28-year-old Spain international.
However, the player’s future at the London Stadium might be uncertain following Julen Lopetegui’s departure earlier in January.
Despite this, PSG has reopened discussions with West Ham over a permanent deal, which the former Valencia star would reportedly welcome if terms are agreed.
Carlos Soler has been a valuable addition to the Hammers since arriving on loan from PSG in the summer.
His arrival seemed more influenced by Lopetegui than Tim Steidten, raising questions about his future following Lopetegui’s exit.
Yet, since Graham Potter took charge, Soler has featured in all three matches under the new manager and even managed to get on the scoresheet.
