European club seeking reduced fee to sign £17m-rated Everton star – report
Torino aim to negotiate a reduced fee to sign Beto from Everton during the winter transfer window, reports Tutto Mercato.
The Italian news outlet reported on Monday, 20 January, that Torino considers the £17 million asking price for Beto too high, despite their strong interest in the striker [Tuttosport].
Beto reportedly prefers a return to Italy to end his struggles at Goodison Park. While negotiations are ongoing, Everton must reduce their demands to finalize the deal [Sunday People].
Torino remains keen on Beto despite Everton’s high demands. Kevin Thelwell is taking risks at the club by holding firm on the price.
Since joining from Udinese in 2023, Beto has scored four Premier League goals. Nonetheless, interest in him is strong.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio (14 January), Como is another potential suitor for Beto and could challenge Torino after recently signing former Everton player Dele Alli.

While the club is justified in trying to recover most of the £27 million spent on Beto, they should appreciate the interest and aim to reach an agreement promptly.

With limited financial resources, Moyes must sell players to strengthen the squad before the transfer window closes on 3 February.
If selling Beto enables Moyes to fund new signings, holding out for an inflated fee seems counterproductive.
Beto no longer has a future at Goodison Park, and delaying a sale could hinder Everton’s chances of making necessary squad improvements.
