“‘Let’s see’ – 30-goal forward spotted at Newcastle United’s training ground, move expected to go ahead.”
Miguel Almirón to be included in Newcastle United's squad for Premier League match against Southampton on Saturday.

Miguel Almirón is still expected to finalize his move back to MLS, rejoining Atlanta United in a deal valued at £11 million.
However, sources in the United States informed NewcastleWorld earlier this week that progress on the deal has been slow.
As the transfer is not yet official, Almirón has stayed in Tyneside, training with his teammates ahead of the upcoming match on the South Coast. He is likely to start on the bench at St Mary’s.
In an update on the 29-year-old’s situation, manager Eddie Howe spoke to reporters at his pre-match press conference, stating: “Miggy’s focus has been very strong here.

He’s been excellent in training this week, and I haven’t seen a moment where I felt the need for a deeper conversation with him.
“We’re both aware of the situation. There is interest from other clubs, and there’s a possibility he could leave before the window closes.
But until then, and if that doesn’t happen, he remains a valuable part of the squad. We value him greatly.
He brings great energy and character, which hasn’t changed at all. He’s been the ultimate professional. We’ll see what happens.”
With Harvey Barnes and Callum Wilson sidelined until February, Howe’s attacking options are limited, so Almirón’s presence is appreciated.
However, these injuries are not expected to hinder Almirón’s potential departure.
Howe added last week: “It’s not ideal if Almirón leaves, but that’s the reality.
From our side, we don’t want to lose players, but we understand there are broader factors to consider in managing the situation.
Sometimes, the decisions we make aren’t just based on football, but also on future planning.”
Since joining Newcastle in January 2019, Almirón has made 222 appearances and scored 30 goals.
However, he has started just two Premier League matches since March. His last goal for the club came in a 3-0 victory over Fulham in December 2023.
