Leicester City set €20m asking price for defender following transfer inquiry.
The transfer window may be closed for City, but other leagues remain open, and this player is drawing interest.
Galatasaray have reportedly inquired about the availability of Leicester City defender Wout Faes, according to a Turkish outlet, PlaySpor.
The Foxes have informed the Super Lig side that they are asking for €20m for the Belgian centre-back, with the Turkish transfer window closing on February 11.
This gives Galatasaray some time to make an offer, but Leicester would be unable to replace Faes until the summer.
Faes is under contract until June 2027, and this isn’t the first time he’s been linked with a move.
In December, Sky Sports France reported that Leicester had agreed to sell Faes if an “interesting offer” came in.
At that point, there were rumors of interest from clubs in Germany and Italy, including Lazio.
However, the situation has evolved since, as Leicester was not charged with breaching Profitability & Sustainability Rules, allowing them to focus on the summer window.
Despite Leicester’s defensive struggles, Faes has remained a regular starter under manager Ruud van Nistelrooy.
However, City are unlikely to part with him without a replacement lined up, making a transfer in the coming days seem improbable.
Currently, Leicester have Faes, Jannik Vestergaard, Conor Coady, and Caleb Okoli as options in defense, with both Okoli and Coady having been linked with moves away from the King Power Stadium recently.
