“‘No Chance’: Fabrizio Romano Confirms £15m Star Won’t Stay at Tottenham Next Season”

According to Romano, it is “impossible” that Spurs will trigger their option to sign him permanently at the end of the season.

Werner Won’t Stay at Spurs

Romano has reported that Tottenham have already decided not to activate their £15 million purchase option for Werner, meaning his time at the club will end this summer.

During the discussion, Romano was asked whether Werner could be a target for MLS side New York Red Bulls and if Spurs were considering keeping him beyond this season.

“Yeah, I think you’ve been nice with ‘unlikely.’ I think it’s impossible.

From my information, it’s something they already decided internally,” Romano responded.

He explained that Werner’s time at Tottenham has been disappointing for both the player and the club, making a departure in the best interest of both parties.

The expectation, Romano said, is that Werner will return to RB Leipzig before seeking a new opportunity elsewhere.

When asked about potential interest from MLS, Romano revealed that while there were rumors in January, nothing concrete materialized.

He remained uncertain about whether an MLS move would be considered in the summer.

Werner’s Struggles at Tottenham

Tottenham’s decision not to sign Werner permanently is hardly surprising.

The German international has failed to impress, struggling in front of goal and offering little creativity.

Spurs need attacking reinforcements who can truly impact the final third, and unfortunately, Werner has not been that player.

His performances have been underwhelming, and he has not done enough to earn a permanent stay in North London.

As Tottenham look ahead to the summer transfer window, they have been linked with several exciting attacking options.
