Lucas Bergvall Claims One Tottenham Teammate’s Workload Has Been ‘Inhuman’ This Season

Tottenham have endured a difficult Premier League campaign, losing more than half their matches and currently sitting in 14th place.

Ange Postecoglou has admitted that Spurs’ league performances have been ‘unacceptable’ this season.

However, with the club shifting focus to the Europa League, concerns are growing that their struggles could continue.

Bergvall Addresses Tottenham’s Challenges

Lucas Bergvall has emerged as one of the few positives in an otherwise disappointing season for Spurs. The 19-year-old has made significant strides in recent months, establishing himself as a key player.

Bergvall believes Tottenham have been unfairly impacted this season, citing the heavy workload many players have endured due to the club’s persistent injury problems.

Discussing his injured teammate Dejan Kulusevski, Bergvall told Sport Bladet:

“I don’t think it’s been a fair season, considering how many injuries we’ve had.

I don’t know the exact cause, but as Dejan and I have discussed, many players have played an incredible number of minutes. It’s not human, and that’s obviously a big factor.”

Managing Workload and International Duty

Postecoglou has acknowledged the need to manage Bergvall’s workload carefully, given the number of minutes he has played in recent months.

According to Sport Bladet, the midfielder is expected to start for Sweden in their upcoming friendly against Luxembourg on Saturday.

When asked if Tottenham had advised him against playing both games during the international break, Bergvall responded:

“No, I haven’t heard anything. I’ll play as much as the coach wants me to.”
