“Crucial Decision Approaches for Vardy and Leicester as Van Nistelrooy Weighs In”

Leicester City will assess Jamie Vardy’s future after the next four matches, manager Ruud van Nistelrooy has indicated, as the clock ticks on the striker’s remarkable career at the club.

Vardy’s contract at the King Power Stadium expires in June, and with the club’s Premier League survival uncertain, his 13-year tenure as City’s number nine may be nearing its end.

Van Nistelrooy has previously stated that the 38-year-old still has the fitness to continue playing, but whether that will be at Leicester remains undecided.

If the club is relegated, a contract extension appears increasingly unlikely, signaling the end of an illustrious era.

Leicester face a difficult run of fixtures, beginning with a trip to Manchester City on Wednesday (7.45 pm kick-off).

They then take on Champions League hopefuls Newcastle and Brighton before facing title-chasing Liverpool.

Unless Leicester spring a few surprises, they could find themselves in serious relegation trouble by the end of this run.

Meanwhile, Wolves, who were nine points clear before this week’s fixtures, faced West Ham on Tuesday night and will soon play bottom-half teams Ipswich, Tottenham, and Manchester United.

By then, Leicester’s fate may be clearer, allowing the club to focus more on Vardy’s future.

When asked about the striker’s contract situation, van Nistelrooy said:

“With the situation we’re in, there are three or four games coming up quickly, and that’s our focus.

“We are doing everything we can to get points, close the gap on Wolves, and show we belong in the Premier League.

“After these matches, we will reassess and make decisions from there.”
