
Former Jones College standout Javon Kinlaw is set to take the field in Super Bowl LVIII this Sunday. Kinlaw, who serves as a defensive tackle for the San Francisco 49ers, has demonstrated consistency throughout the season, recording at least one tackle in 15 out of 17 games.
The 49ers will face off against the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl showdown, set to take place at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. The highly anticipated game will be televised by CBS at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday.
Kinlaw, a former Jones College player from the 2016 season, has contributed significantly this year with 25 tackles, comprising 13 solo tackles and 12 assists, along with 3 1/2 sacks.
Following his time at Jones, Kinlaw played for the University of South Carolina from 2017 to 2019 before being drafted by the 49ers in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft.
Kinlaw joins a select group of former Jones College players who have participated in the Super Bowl, including defensive tackle Orpheus Roye (Pittsburgh Steelers, Super Bowl XLIII in 2008), Deion Branch (New England Patriots, Super Bowl XXXVIII in 2003, Super Bowl XXXIX MVP in 2004, Super Bowl XLVI in 2012), and linebacker Damien Wilson (Kansas City Chiefs, Super Bowl LIV champion in 2020).
