Boubakary Soumare could find a new club this summer, with a newly-promoted Premier League side or a Saudi Arabian team among the possible destinations, as Leicester City look to offload players to manage wages and raise transfer funds following their relegation.

With just one year left on his contract, Soumare is seen as a likely departure.

He was recently linked with French clubs Lyon and Monaco, and now, according to Sky Sports, additional options are emerging.

Reports suggest that a promoted side like Leeds United or Burnley could show interest in the French midfielder.

There is also interest from the Middle East, with Saudi Arabian and Qatari clubs potentially offering Soumare a new opportunity.

A move to that region might allow Leicester to secure a higher fee, with the club reportedly valuing him at around €10 million (£8.5 million).

Leicester originally signed Soumare from Lille for £17 million in 2021 after he helped them win the Ligue 1 title.

Following Leicester’s relegation two years ago, Soumare spent a season on loan at Sevilla, missing out on the Foxes’ Championship-winning campaign.

This season, back at Leicester, Soumare has featured more prominently than ever before, earning regular starts under manager Ruud van Nistelrooy.

He has started 20 of van Nistelrooy’s 21 Premier League matches in charge, missing only the December defeat at Newcastle through suspension.

Despite his regular involvement, Soumare was substituted at half-time during Saturday’s clash with Wolves.

Van Nistelrooy expressed dissatisfaction with the team’s lack of intensity in the first half at Molineux, hinting at the need for greater urgency from his players.

With Leicester preparing for a fresh start, Soumare’s exit appears increasingly likely as the club reshapes its squad for the future.
