“West Ham’s SHOCKING £42M Double Heist: Snagging a World-Class Defender and Midfield Maestro in ONE Swoop!”

West Ham Targeting Defensive and Midfield Reinforcements Ahead of Summer Rebuild

Graham Potter’s side is set to finish the season in the bottom half of the Premier League table following a disappointing campaign at the London Stadium.

Despite the underwhelming results, the club’s owners remain supportive and are prepared to back Potter in the summer transfer window, which will mark his first full pre-season at West Ham.

A potential double swoop on Genoa is reportedly being considered, with West Ham interested in both defender Koni De Winter and midfielder Morten Frendrup.

According to Give Me Sport, De Winter is expected to leave Genoa this summer and is attracting interest from several Premier League clubs, including Tottenham, Crystal Palace, and the Hammers.

The 22-year-old Belgium international is also on the radar of Serie A giants Inter Milan and Napoli.

Frendrup, a 24-year-old Danish international, is also drawing attention. Ben Jacobs reports that Genoa is open to letting him leave for around £17 million.

De Winter could cost up to £25 million, meaning a combined fee of £42 million may secure both players.

These targets reflect Potter’s intent to rebuild the squad with younger, versatile talent.

De Winter’s athleticism, composure on the ball, and ability to play across the backline make him a potential upgrade on the inconsistent Konstantinos Mavropanos.

Meanwhile, Frendrup’s high-energy style and defensive reliability make him a fitting replacement in midfield, especially with the likely departures of Tomas Soucek, and loan players Guido Rodriguez and Carlos Soler.

Both players fit the profile Potter is seeking: young, hungry, and tactically adaptable.

The proposed double deal would enhance West Ham’s defensive solidity and midfield depth as the club looks to improve on their current 15th-place finish and make a push for European qualification in the 2025/26 season.
