Newcastle Monitor Coventry Star Jack Rudoni Ahead of Summer Move

Newcastle United are reportedly keeping tabs on Coventry City’s Jack Rudoni with an eye on a possible summer transfer, according to the Daily Mail.

Rudoni, who joined the Sky Blues from Huddersfield, has impressed during a standout debut campaign at the CBS Arena.

The dynamic midfielder scored nine goals and provided 12 assists across 43 Championship appearances, catching the attention of top-flight clubs.

Former Premier League player and Sky Sports pundit Lee Hendrie spoke to Football League World about the growing interest in Rudoni and praised the 23-year-old’s development under Coventry manager Frank Lampard.

“Midfielders nowadays need to do it all: score, create, and drive the team forward. Rudoni does that. He ticks every box,” Hendrie said. “Given the confidence Frank has instilled in him, he’s ready for that step up.”

Reflecting on Rudoni’s performances this past season, Hendrie noted that while some contributions may go unnoticed, his off-the-ball movement and positional intelligence stand out.

“People sometimes overlook what he offers. He’s always getting into dangerous areas—just like Frank used to. He might have missed chances, but his positioning and effort are top-tier.”

Newcastle’s interest, led by journalist Craig Hope’s report, underscores the growing attention Rudoni is receiving from Premier League clubs. Hendrie believes a move could soon materialize.

“I’d be very surprised if a Premier League club doesn’t make a move for him this summer,” Hendrie said. “If it happens, it’ll be a major loss for Coventry.”

He concluded by acknowledging that such opportunities don’t come around often.

“For a player like him, you have to take the chance when it comes. Moving up to the Premier League is a dream for many, and I think he’s earned it.”
