Leicester City are finalising the appointment of 39-year-old Russell Martin as manager, with an official announcement expected within days.

The move comes as the club prepares for life back in the Championship following their relegation from the Premier League.

Football Insider revealed on 20 May that Leicester have decided to part ways with Ruud van Nistelrooy, and Martin is set to take over the reins at the King Power Stadium.

The 32-year-old, who is out of contract at Crystal Palace next month, spent the latter half of the season on loan at Celtic.

His experience and versatility are seen as valuable assets as Leicester look to rebuild.
