Tottenham Announce Three Additional Departures, Retaining Two of Ange Postecoglou’s Coaches
Postecoglou Dismissed as Spurs Boss, Three Coaches Also Set to Depart
It has been a highly emotional and turbulent week at Tottenham Hotspur, with several key figures departing the club.
Donna-Maria Cullen, who had been a director at Spurs for 30 years, stepped down from the board last Monday, marking the end of a long and influential tenure.
Later that same day, Ryan Mason also left the club. The 33-year-old, who had served as assistant manager and twice taken charge as interim head coach following the dismissals of Jose Mourinho and Cristian Stellini, was appointed as the new head coach of West Bromwich Albion.
The week concluded in dramatic fashion, with Tottenham making the surprising decision to part ways with Ange Postecoglou, despite finishing the campaign with a Europa League triumph.
The wave of departures appears far from over. According to journalist Matt Law, three members of Postecoglou’s coaching staff—Mile Jedinak, Nick Montgomery, and Sergio Raimundo—are also set to exit the club.
These moves come amid reports that some players are threatening to leave following Postecoglou’s dismissal.
There is some continuity, however, as assistant coach Matt Wells and goalkeeping coach Rob Burch are said to be keen on staying. It remains unclear whether the incoming manager will choose to retain them.
Montgomery and Raimundo only joined Spurs last season, while Jedinak came in alongside Postecoglou. Burch was also part of that group, whereas Wells had been with the club slightly earlier.
Tottenham now face the challenge of rebuilding under a new manager. With Postecoglou gone, it’s only logical for his backroom staff to move on as well.
The next head coach should be given full autonomy to assemble their preferred support team, including deciding the fates of Wells and Burch.
While the decision to sack Postecoglou has been met with widespread debate, the club must now focus on the future. Appointing a new manager quickly is key to maintaining stability.
Reports have named Brentford’s Thomas Frank as the leading candidate for the role, although some sources suggest Fulham’s Marco Silva is also in serious contention to take over at Hotspur Way.
