Tottenham’s potential new manager, Thomas Frank, has reportedly made Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo a top transfer target if he takes the job, according to the Mirror.
Spurs recently parted ways with Ange Postecoglou after a Europa League triumph was overshadowed by a disappointing 17th-place finish in the Premier League.
Several names have been linked to the vacant managerial post, including Newcastle’s Eddie Howe. However, Frank has emerged as the frontrunner and could be appointed as early as next week.
Reports suggest Frank has made it clear to Spurs chairman Daniel Levy that if he is to take over in North London, the club must push to sign Mbeumo as well.
The Brentford winger has been a standout performer under Frank and is seen as vital to his vision for Tottenham.
Currently, Manchester United are leading the race for the 25-year-old Cameroonian. Mbeumo has already given the green light to a potential move to Old Trafford, and United are negotiating with Brentford, who value the player at around £60 million.
While United are offering a lucrative deal worth nearly £200,000 a week, Tottenham’s current wage proposal stands at approximately £130,000 per week.
Despite the financial disparity, Frank hopes his strong relationship with Mbeumo and the lure of Champions League football will be enough to sway the winger in Spurs’ favor.
Mbeumo, described as “very quick,” was among the Premier League’s most effective wingers last season.
He scored 20 league goals and provided seven assists—his most productive campaign to date.
Should Mbeumo opt for a reunion with Frank at Tottenham, his arrival would significantly strengthen the club’s attacking options.
However, with Manchester United still in the picture and offering higher wages, his final decision remains uncertain.
