Leeds United have reportedly had a £32 million bid for Fulham striker Rodrigo Muniz rejected, with the London club demanding £50 million.

It remains uncertain whether Leeds will return with an improved offer or turn their attention elsewhere.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Leeds are now advancing talks to sign Lecce forward Nikola Krstovic, who has publicly stated his desire to leave the Serie A side this summer.

Krstovic had an impressive 2024/25 campaign, playing a crucial role in keeping Lecce in Italy’s top flight.

He contributed to 16 goals in a team that only managed 27 league goals throughout the entire season, highlighting his importance to the side.

Lecce have informed Leeds that they want £30 million for the Montenegro international, according to Calcio Lecce.

The club is using Omar Marmoush’s transfer to Manchester City as a benchmark for Krstovic’s valuation.

Leeds have already shown a willingness to invest heavily in a striker, but Head of Football Operations Adam Underwood may prefer a forward with a proven Premier League track record.

That likely explains their earlier pursuit of Muniz, who impressed at Fulham last season.

The Whites have already secured the signing of Lukas Nmecha, who is set to officially join on July 1 after agreeing a two-year pre-contract.

Following his arrival, reports suggested Leeds were targeting a marquee striker, and Krstovic now appears to be that option.

Sky Italia reports that Leeds have made an offer close to Lecce’s asking price and are showing “serious” interest in the 24-year-old.

Should the deal go through, Krstovic would become Leeds’ second-most expensive signing in history, behind only Georginio Rutter, who joined for £35.5 million in January 2023. Rutter has since moved to Brighton in a £40 million deal.

Krstovic would surpass Rodrigo’s £27 million move from Valencia in 2020, as well as the £25 million deals for Brenden Aaronson and Dan James.

Leeds must now decide whether to continue their pursuit of Krstovic or return to the table with a higher bid for Premier League-proven Muniz.
