“Tottenham’s SHOCKING Plan to DITCH ‘World-Class’ Legend for South American ‘SUPERSTAR’ Sensation – You Won’t Believe Who!”

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly targeting Bologna centre-back Jhon Lucumi as a potential replacement for Cristian Romero this summer, according to journalist Alexis Rodriguez.

Despite securing Champions League qualification by winning the Europa League, Spurs endured a turbulent 2024/25 season under Ange Postecoglou, leading to his dismissal.

Thomas Frank has since been appointed as the new head coach, with plans underway to reshape the squad for the upcoming campaign.

One of the key issues facing Tottenham is the future of vice-captain Cristian Romero, who has attracted strong interest from Atletico Madrid.

The Argentine defender has openly expressed a desire to play in La Liga, prompting the club to explore alternatives in case he departs.

Lucumi has emerged as a serious candidate. The Colombian international has impressed in Serie A and is viewed as a strong, physical defender capable of slotting in alongside Micky Van de Ven at the heart of Spurs’ defence.

Described as a “phenomenon” for his commanding displays in Italy, Lucumi would bring aggression, composure, and top-level experience, including appearances in the Champions League with Bologna.

However, Tottenham are not alone in their pursuit. Fellow Premier League sides Wolves and Brighton have already initiated talks with Bologna regarding a possible transfer for the 26-year-old, meaning Spurs will need to act decisively if they want to land their target.

Frank already has the likes of Kevin Danso and Ben Davies at his disposal, while youngster Archie Gray also filled in at centre-back during the previous campaign.

Still, Lucumi’s arrival would significantly bolster the club’s defensive depth and quality, making him a valuable addition ahead of the new season.
