Leeds United continue their summer recruitment drive, with striker reinforcements high on the agenda despite already signing Lukas Nmecha on a free transfer from Wolfsburg.

The club had a bid rejected for Fulham’s Rodrigo Muniz and are now said to be in advanced discussions for Nikola Krstovic.

While a new striker remains a key priority, Leeds are also targeting midfield reinforcements.

Recent links have emerged with Club Brugge’s Raphael Onyedika, but the main midfield target appears to be Strasbourg captain Habib Diarra.

Earlier this month, Leeds submitted an offer for Senegal international Diarra.

Just a day later, Diarra made headlines by scoring against England in a 3-1 win at the City Ground.

Although Strasbourg initially withheld a response, they have now rejected Leeds’ £21 million bid.

According to TeamTalk, the French side is demanding £25 million—a further £4 million—for the deal to be completed.

Strasbourg president Marc Keller has already confirmed that Diarra will leave this summer, with the player himself eager to step up to a bigger stage.

Interest in the 21-year-old is growing, given his standout performances in Ligue 1 and his leadership qualities as captain.

Diarra’s former manager, Liam Rosenior, even labelled him “magnificent” during their time together.

Leeds are not alone in the chase. Eintracht Frankfurt, where former Whites player Rasmus Kristensen now plays, are also keen.

Meanwhile, several Premier League sides—Everton, Brighton, Nottingham Forest, and Aston Villa—are tracking Diarra’s situation.

Although Leeds are leading the race by making a formal offer and engaging in negotiations, doubts remain internally.

The club’s decision-makers are reportedly still unconvinced about meeting Strasbourg’s asking price.
