ESPN’s Adam Schefter recently disclosed the NFL’s allocation of compensatory picks for the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft, and the San Francisco 49ers have secured significant compensation.
The Niners have acquired five additional selections as follows:
– In the third round, pick number 36, overall selection 99.
– In the fourth round, pick number 33, overall selection 132.
– In the fifth round, pick number 41, overall selection 175.
– In the sixth round, selection number 36, overall pick 211.
– In the sixth round, pick number 40, overall selection 215.
It’s presumed that the third-round pick compensates for Ran Carthon and DeMeco Ryans from the previous year. As for the fourth-round pick, it’s likely attributed to Jimmy Garoppolo, although other possibilities include Samson Ebukam, Jimmie Ward, Azeez Al-Shaair, and Emmanuel Moseley.
According to Over the Cap, Mike McGlinchey’s contract cancellation offsets Javon Hargrave’s, while the same holds true for Charles Omenihu and Sam Darnold. Additionally, potential seventh-round picks that the Niners could have received for Daniel Brunskill and Hassan Ridgeway were nullified due to deals involving Isaiah Oliver and Clelin Ferrell.
