According to reports from Sky Sports, Nottingham Forest have threatened legal action, accusing Spurs of making an illegal approach and breaching confidentiality regarding Gibbs-White’s release clause.
Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis is said to be furious with the handling of the situation and has since insisted that the player is “not for sale” under any circumstances.
Despite this roadblock, Spurs remain optimistic that a deal can still be salvaged. Sources close to the club believe that Forest’s firm stance may soften eventually, particularly as the legal process unfolds.

However, an update from The Boy Hotspur suggests the situation has escalated further, with Gibbs-White reportedly submitting a formal transfer request to force a move.
According to the report shared on The Boy Hotspur’s Patreon, the midfielder is now determined to join Tottenham.
“From a legal standpoint, Marinakis’ attempt to block the deal is largely emotional and unlikely to hold up,” the source claimed. “Morgan has handed in a transfer request and wants out.
