“West Ham Set to Smash Transfer Records with Jaw-Dropping £26M Swoop for 6ft 3in Goal-Scoring Titan!”

West Ham United Set to Open Talks for Cagliari Striker Roberto Piccoli – Report Claims

After progressing through Atalanta’s youth ranks, 24-year-old striker Roberto Piccoli found it difficult to establish himself in the first team, resulting in several loan moves to gain experience and regular playing time.

Last season, he impressed during his loan spell at Cagliari, netting 12 goals and providing one assist in 40 appearances across all competitions.

His performances convinced the Rossoblu to sign him on a permanent basis this summer.

However, his form has also caught the eye of West Ham United, who, according to a recent report from Tutto Cagliari, are planning to initiate discussions over a potential transfer.

Although Piccoli only recently made his move to Cagliari permanent, he is already being linked with a swift exit.

He still has four years remaining on his current deal, and the Sardinian club reportedly values him at around £26 million. This fee is not expected to be a problem for the East London side.

West Ham are currently in the midst of reshaping their attacking department. Both Danny Ings and Michail Antonio departed at the end of last season after their contracts expired, with the club choosing not to renew them.

This has left manager Graham Potter with limited options up front.

Niclas Fullkrug remains the only senior centre-forward in the squad, but he will turn 33 next year.

The Hammers briefly brought in Evan Ferguson on loan from Brighton during the winter window, but his underwhelming displays meant he wasn’t retained and has since joined AS Roma permanently.

Given Piccoli’s 6ft 3in frame and promising attributes, he could be a valuable addition to West Ham’s forward line.

Whether the club decides to follow up with a formal offer remains to be seen.

In the meantime, West Ham are in the United States for the Premier League Summer Series. They are set to play Manchester United on Saturday night, followed by fixtures against Everton and AFC Bournemouth.
