Everton have shifted their focus to Southampton winger Tyler Dibling as they look to strengthen their attacking options this summer.
According to The Times, the Toffees have turned their attention to Dibling after failing to land Francesco Trincao, Johan Bakayoko, and facing difficulties in securing a deal for Takefusa Kubo.
Despite Southampton’s relegation to the Championship, Dibling stood out with a promising campaign.
His performances sparked optimism about a swift return to top-flight football, and Sky Sports described him as “absolutely fearless on the ball and capable of moments of magic.”
The 18-year-old registered four goals and three assists in 38 appearances, displaying potential that has drawn interest from several clubs.
RB Leipzig and Tottenham Hotspur were previously linked, but Everton have now emerged as contenders for his signature.
However, his valuation may pose a challenge. Southampton have reportedly set a £55 million asking price, which many expected to be reduced following their drop to the second tier.
Everton have already made significant investments this window, bringing in Charly Alcaraz, Thierno Barry, and Mark Travers.
Yet, gaps remain in both midfield and attack, while the left-back position also needs attention, with Bayern Munich youngster Adam Aznou among the players being monitored.
Given their limited budget, splashing a large sum on Dibling could be unwise. Instead, Everton might be better served targeting Strasbourg winger Dilane Bakwa.
Bakwa offers a more cost-effective alternative. He’s physically stronger, ready for Premier League football, and boasts better attacking stats—scoring six goals and providing eight assists last season.
His versatility is also a plus, having played in midfield and even as a wing-back thanks to his tireless work rate.
If Dibling proves too costly, Bakwa could be a smart and impactful signing for the Toffees.
