Homegrown Midfielder Set to Leave Chelsea After Limited Premier League Role Under Former Championship-Winning Boss Enzo Maresca
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is on the verge of a £28 million move to Everton, just a year after joining Chelsea in a £30 million deal from Leicester City.
The 26-year-old midfielder is set to become David Moyes’ fifth signing of the summer, with Fulham also showing interest.

A key figure in Leicester’s promotion campaign two seasons ago, Dewsbury-Hall left his boyhood club to reunite with Enzo Maresca at Stamford Bridge.
However, his time at Chelsea didn’t bring the regular game time he had hoped for. He managed only 11 Premier League appearances — just two as a starter — and largely served as a backup option.
He saw more action in European competition, playing all 15 matches in the Europa Conference League.
He scored four goals and provided three assists, including one in the 4-1 final win over Real Betis. Dewsbury-Hall also added a Club World Cup medal to his collection during his spell at Chelsea.
Moyes, aiming for a significant overhaul, is targeting up to 10 new signings this window. “I’ve never had a time like this,” he said. “I’ve had to sign a lot of players before, but never so many in one window.”
Dewsbury-Hall becomes the third Leicester academy graduate in recent years to be sold for £30 million or more, following Ben Chilwell (£50m) and Harvey Barnes (£38m).
The Foxes’ academy continues to produce talent. In their recent pre-season win over Fiorentina, nine of the 24 players involved were homegrown.
