Everton have focused much of the transfer window on strengthening their attack under David Moyes, with Thierno Barry joining from Villarreal and Jack Grealish arriving on loan from Manchester City.

Throughout the summer, the Merseyside club also chased a deal for Tyler Dibling, though several bids for the Southampton youngster were rejected.

The 19-year-old, who shone for the Saints last season with 38 appearances in all competitions, has long been a top target for Moyes.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Everton have now reached a verbal agreement with Southampton for Dibling’s transfer.

The club are understood to have met the Championship side’s asking price, finally concluding protracted negotiations.

The deal is worth £42 million and includes a sell-on clause, while the winger has already agreed personal terms on a long-term contract dating back to July.

He is now set to complete his medical before sealing the switch to Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Dibling’s journey began at Southampton’s academy, though he briefly joined Chelsea’s youth ranks in 2022 before returning to St Mary’s later that year.

He made his senior debut in August 2023 during a Carabao Cup defeat to Gillingham and has since accumulated 43 first-team appearances.

Last season, he registered four goals and three assists, establishing himself as one of Southampton’s brightest young prospects.

This campaign, however, he was left out of the Saints’ first two matches—a 2-1 win over Wrexham and a 1-0 victory against Northampton Town—before making a late substitute appearance in the 1-1 draw with Ipswich Town.

If finalised, Dibling will become Everton’s eighth signing of the summer. He will join Thierno Barry, Adam Aznou, Mark Travers, Carlos Alcaraz, Jack Grealish, Tom King, and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall as part of Moyes’ new-look squad.

The move highlights Everton’s ambition to secure young, high-potential players alongside established names, providing Moyes with greater attacking depth as the Toffees aim to push further up the Premier League table this season.
