Everton’s final piece of summer business was completed in the dying hours of deadline day, as the club secured the loan signing of Merlin Rohl from SC Freiburg.

Their exits left significant gaps, but the Friedkin Group supported Moyes in rebuilding the squad.
For the most part, the manager received the reinforcements he requested, though defensive depth remains a concern—particularly after Vitalii Mykolenko sustained another injury while on duty with Ukraine.
In contrast, the attacking department appears far stronger, with several new faces already making contributions.
According to Transfermarkt, Everton’s current squad value has risen slightly to £320 million, compared with £315 million last season.
The average age of the squad has crept up, largely due to the departure of several younger players.
When compared across the Premier League, Everton sit 15th in squad value rankings. Their £320m valuation is narrowly behind West Ham at £323m, while comfortably ahead of Fulham, who come in at £293m.
Aston Villa’s £9th-placed total highlights the significant gap between the mid-table clubs and the top.
