Bowen explained: “I think we’ve recruited really well, and obviously we’ve got Crysencio Summerville who’s come back from injury and almost feels like a new signing because he’s missed nearly six months of football.

When he came on at the weekend [against Nottingham Forest], he made a really big impact.”

While Summerville’s return is unquestionably positive, it could also present Potter with a selection headache as the season unfolds.

The Dutchman is a versatile attacker, comfortable on the ball, capable of creating opportunities, and possessing the flair to produce something spectacular.

Once he regains full match fitness, he will naturally push for a starting place, but that ambition could unsettle the balance of the current setup.

Against Forest, both Mateus Fernandes and Paquetá excelled in advanced roles, making it difficult to see where Summerville fits without someone being sacrificed.
