SHOCKING PROMISE FROM LEICESTER’S HOTTEST FREE AGENT STEAL: “WE’LL DOMINATE THE PREMIER LEAGUE OR YOUR MONEY BACK!”
Francisco Vieites shares his thoughts after sealing a move to Leicester City

Leicester City’s new signing Francisco Vieites is eager to begin life at the King Power Stadium and is particularly excited to work under fellow Spaniard Martí Cifuentes.
The goalkeeper arrived on a free transfer following his release from Real Betis in August and has committed to a two-year contract with the Foxes.
During his three years at Betis, Vieites featured in 20 matches, having initially joined from CD Lugo in 2022.
Eight of those outings came in the Europa Conference League last season, where he played a key role in Betis’ run to the final.
Despite being an unused substitute in their 4-1 defeat to Chelsea in Wroclaw, the experience proved invaluable.
Speaking about his decision to join Leicester, Vieites explained: “I spoke with Cifuentes on the phone, and I really liked his ideas and the way he expresses himself.
I believe we’ll work well together. I’m also very excited to meet the other goalkeepers and coaches here. Every day is a chance to improve, and I know I’ll learn a lot from them.”
When asked to describe his playing style, the 25-year-old said: “I’d say I’m brave but also calm.
I like to communicate with my defenders, be aggressive in crosses, provide cover behind the line, and play comfortably with both feet.
But ultimately, the most important job for a goalkeeper is to stop the ball. I treat every game as if it’s the last of my career.”
Vieites highlighted the importance of focus at the top level: “You can’t switch off at any moment, because goals can come from anywhere.
Whether it’s a European semi-final or a regular league game, you need to stay connected and ready.”
Looking ahead, he made a promise to Leicester fans: “I’ll give everything in training and on match days. I want us to enjoy this journey together, and for me, the best way to enjoy football is by winning.”
