“SHOCKER: Reguilon Drops BOMBSHELL Decision on Everton Free Transfer That Will Leave Fans SPEECHLESS!”

Football Insider reported on 19 September that Sergio Reguilon could be in line for a Premier League return, with several clubs monitoring the free agent market for potential signings.

The 28-year-old defender was recently released by Brentford boss Thomas Frank, but that decision has not dampened interest in his services.

Even though the summer window has closed, Reguilon is viewed as one of the more attractive free agents still available.

According to the latest Inside Track podcast from Football Insider, Spanish sides Sevilla and Real Sociedad are currently leading the chase for his signature.

Sources close to the player believe a move back to Spain could appeal after a challenging period in England, with Premier League interest—particularly from Everton—uncertain at this stage.

On 16 September, Football Insider revealed that Everton were considering dipping into the free agent market after suffering injuries to both full-back positions.

However, whether the Toffees or any other English sides pursue Reguilon may depend on whether defensive injuries become pressing enough to force action.

Reguilon is one of ten high-profile free agents still without a club and is expected to return to top-flight football soon, having been without a team for two months. Speaking on the podcast, it was explained:

“Reguilon’s last couple of years have been disappointing. He failed to cement his place at Tottenham and spent time on loan at Manchester United and Brentford, but neither spell was especially convincing.

His future could hinge on clubs suffering fresh injuries or suspensions in defence.

At the moment, a return to Spain appears the likeliest outcome, with interest from Sevilla, where he previously played, and Real Sociedad also in the frame.

“That said, Premier League clubs may yet come calling if they find themselves short of defensive options.”

For now, however, Everton and other English sides could well miss out as the Spaniard leans towards a homecoming.

Meanwhile, Everton received some much-needed good news at left-back with Vitaliy Mykolenko’s return to action.

Despite speculation that the Merseyside club might move for a free agent, the Ukraine international featured in the 2-1 Merseyside derby defeat against Liverpool on 20 September.

Although not at his sharpest, his inclusion provided a major boost for Sean Dyche’s side.

New signing Adam Aznou is still yet to make his senior debut owing to ongoing fitness concerns, which made Mykolenko’s comeback even more significant.

His availability could reduce the need for Everton to act in the free agent market.

Instead, the club’s focus may shift to strengthening other areas ahead of the January transfer window, with their main objective being to retain key players.

Football Insider revealed on 21 August that Everton have no plans to entertain offers for highly-rated centre-back Jarrad Branthwaite, despite sustained interest from Manchester United and Liverpool.
