Centre-back situation

Harry Souttar is nearing a return from injury, which would give Leicester five senior centre-backs.

That’s more than manager Marti Cifuentes is likely to rotate, especially in a position where stability is crucial.

Young defender Ben Nelson has already found himself out of matchday squads, and his development could suffer without regular football.

A January loan move for Nelson looks the most practical solution, allowing Leicester to manage numbers while giving the academy graduate valuable game time.

Left-back reshuffle

Victor Kristiansen’s return from injury has not earned him back his starting spot, with Luke Thomas now Cifuentes’ preferred left-back.
