Mousinho confirmed that Murphy, who recently resumed light training, will miss upcoming fixtures against Leicester and Coventry City.
The manager hopes to have him fully fit for Portsmouth’s home clash with Stoke City next weekend, stressing the importance of caution to avoid any relapse.
“We’ve been very cautious,” Mousinho explained. “It’s more about getting it right now rather than rushing him back and risking further injury.”
While Portsmouth will sorely miss their star winger, Leicester will quietly welcome the news.
The Foxes, managed by Marti Cifuentes, were reportedly interested in signing Murphy during the summer, recognising his ability to unlock defences with pace, precision, and flair.
