Richarlison could be set for a sensational return to Everton in the January transfer window, with reports suggesting that The Friedkin Group are prepared to fully support David Moyes in bolstering his squad this winter.
The club’s American owners backed Moyes heavily in the summer, funding the arrivals of Thierno Barry, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Jack Grealish, and Tyler Dibling—who became Everton’s second-most expensive signing in history.
It was a transfer window that reflected ambition, fitting for a team preparing to move into a new stadium.
However, Friedkin’s investment drive is far from over. The group reportedly wants to address the Toffees’ ongoing striker woes ahead of the 2026 campaign, following disappointing returns from both Barry and Beto.
Barry, a £27 million signing, has struggled to replicate his form from Villarreal—where he scored 19 goals last season—and is still without a goal in an Everton shirt.
Meanwhile, Beto has netted just twice in 11 appearances, leaving Moyes short of a reliable goalscorer.
In response, Everton scouts have been busy exploring alternatives. Representatives were present for Galatasaray’s recent Champions League encounter with Bodo/Glimt, where Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen scored twice.
Osimhen would undoubtedly provide a world-class solution to the club’s attacking issues, though his signing would require a monumental financial outlay.
Another potential target is Ivan Toney. Currently playing for Al-Ahli, the England international is reportedly eager to return to the Premier League in January to boost his chances of making Thomas Tuchel’s England squad for the Euros.
Toney is said to be keen on working with Moyes, but Everton’s hierarchy would need to weigh his high wage demands carefully.
Yet, amid these ambitious names, one familiar face could make a surprise return—Richarlison. According to TeamTalk, the Brazilian forward would “jump at the chance” to rejoin Everton in January.
The Tottenham striker has found himself on the bench for the last three league games and could seek a move for more consistent minutes.
Friedkin are reportedly ready to “go all in” for Moyes again in January, and the Everton boss would welcome a proven Premier League performer to lead his attack.
Richarlison previously thrived at Goodison Park, where his energy, tenacity, and knack for big goals made him a fan favourite.
Whether Tottenham boss Thomas Frank would sanction his departure remains uncertain. Speaking earlier this season after Richarlison’s strong start, Frank said:
