Tottenham Hotspur are targeting a versatile Premier League forward, but have been warned that only a huge bid will convince his club to sell in January.
Recent reports suggest that Tottenham Hotspur are targeting wide forwards with Premier League experience ahead of the January transfer window.
This strategy makes sense, given the team’s current struggles in attack, which have been exacerbated by injuries to key players such as Dominic Solanke, James Maddison, and Dejan Kulusevski.
One of the names being linked with a move to North London is Everton’s Iliman Ndiaye, who has significantly improved since joining the Merseyside club in the summer of 2024.
The Senegal international has been one of Everton’s standout performers this season, registering four goal contributions in nine league appearances under David Moyes.
However, former Everton CEO Keith Wyness has warned that Tottenham will have to pay a hefty price if they want to secure Ndiaye’s signature.
Speaking to Football Insider, Wyness claimed that Spurs might need to table an offer close to £100 million to tempt Everton into selling their star forward.
“It’s going to take a huge offer,” Wyness said. “Ndiaye is very happy at the club right now, and I think a new contract could soon be on the table.
Unless an exceptional bid comes in—something around £100 million—I can’t see him leaving. He’s impressed everyone with his quick feet and creativity.
Watching him alongside players like Grealish and Dewsbury-Hall would be thrilling, as he brings flair and unpredictability that’s hard for defenders to handle.”
Wyness went on to praise Moyes for achieving balance in his team but admitted that the Toffees still lack a clinical edge in front of goal.
However, other reports suggest the situation might be less costly for Spurs.
According to TEAMtalk, Tottenham could sign Ndiaye for around £60 million in January—significantly less than the figure mentioned by Wyness.
The outlet added, though, that Everton have no plans to part ways with the 25-year-old, as they see him as an essential part of their attacking setup.
While Tottenham’s interest remains strong, it appears they may need to pay well above market value or wait until the summer to have any real chance of landing Ndiaye.
