Tyler Dibling’s move to Everton has not gone according to plan so far, with the youngster struggling to make an impression at the Hill Dickinson Stadium since joining in the summer.

The Toffees spent a hefty £40 million to bring him in back in August, but the 19-year-old has barely featured in David Moyes’ plans during the first ten Premier League matches of the season.

Despite Everton boasting several talented wide players, there is growing frustration among fans and pundits that Dibling’s potential is being wasted.

The teenager has played only 62 minutes of league football since arriving on Merseyside and was again left on the bench during Monday night’s 1–1 draw with Sunderland, even though Iliman Ndiaye picked up an injury in the second half.

Dibling had previously caught the eye at Southampton last season, impressing with his attacking flair despite the Saints’ relegation campaign.

However, his switch to Everton has not yet produced similar opportunities to showcase his ability.

With limited minutes and confidence at risk, pressure is mounting on Moyes to give the starlet more playing time or consider alternative solutions to aid his development.

Former Everton scout Bryan King has now suggested that a loan move in January could be the best step forward for Dibling.

Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, King said he expects the youngster to go out temporarily in the winter window — possibly even back to Southampton.

“I can definitely see a loan move happening,” King said. “Somewhere in the top half of the Championship would be ideal. Maybe a return to Southampton could suit him.

He’s young and needs game time, which he clearly isn’t getting at Everton. If you spend £40 million on a player of his age, you’d expect him to be playing regularly.

If he’s as good as they think he is, he should have featured far more than 62 minutes by now.”

Everton’s upcoming clash with Fulham could present Dibling with a lifeline, as Ndiaye’s fitness remains uncertain following his knock against Sunderland.

Although the Senegalese forward’s injury isn’t considered serious, Moyes may choose to rotate his squad, which could open the door for Dibling to finally make his mark.

Dwight McNeil was introduced ahead of Dibling on Monday, but the former Burnley man hasn’t started a game since late September, meaning the teenager could be handed a rare opportunity this weekend.

If selected, Dibling must seize the moment to prove his worth.

A strong display against Fulham could be exactly what he needs to persuade Moyes that he is ready to contribute more significantly to Everton’s season and avoid being sent out on loan in January.
