What Everton must do to become competitive
The most pressing need for Everton is a reliable number nine. Both Beto and Thierno Barry have struggled to score consistently, leaving the team without a dependable focal point in attack.
Ivan Toney has been linked with a move to Goodison Park, and he would certainly fit the profile—if Al-Ahli are willing to sanction his departure.
That remains uncertain, meaning Everton may need to explore alternative options, though few come with Toney’s Premier League pedigree.
The recruitment team must also prioritise securing a high-quality right-back. Jake O’Brien, naturally a centre-back, has often been deployed in the role out of necessity.
