Fabio Paratici is reportedly obsessed with the idea of bringing Inter Milan centre-back Alessandro Bastoni to Tottenham Hotspur, according to fresh reports emerging from Italy.
The 53-year-old returned to the North London club in October in a joint sporting director role and is widely expected to oversee an active January transfer window as Spurs look to reset their season.
Tottenham are understood to be weighing up a renewed approach for Manchester City winger Savinho when the window opens, while Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo is also admired, with several Premier League sides tracking his progress.
Despite that attacking interest, reports suggest defensive reinforcements are also firmly on the agenda, with Bastoni viewed internally as a dream acquisition for Paratici.
Paratici sets sights on Bastoni
According to FcInterNews, a number of Europe’s elite clubs are monitoring Bastoni ahead of January, including Barcelona, Chelsea and Tottenham.
However, convincing the Italian international to leave Inter has proven difficult.
Both Spurs and Chelsea are said to have already tested the waters, only for Bastoni to turn down interest from the two London clubs.
The defender is currently tied down until June 2028 on a contract worth around £200,000 per week, giving Inter a strong negotiating position.
Bastoni has also shown little enthusiasm for a lucrative move to the Saudi Pro League, despite enquiries from Al Hilal and Al Qadisiah.
Instead, his preference appears to be remaining in Milan.
Reports indicate the 26-year-old is open to signing an improved deal at Inter, with discussions over a contract extension expected to take place in the coming months.
Bastoni is keen to further establish himself as a leader and long-term symbol of the club he joined back in 2017, and he is not actively considering alternative options despite growing interest from abroad.
Over recent seasons, Bastoni has cemented his reputation as one of world football’s standout defenders.
He played a key role in Inter’s Serie A triumphs in 2021 and 2024, while also helping the Italian giants reach the Champions League finals in 2023 and 2025.
Pressure mounts on Frank
Meanwhile, Tottenham’s struggles under Thomas Frank continue to dominate headlines. Spurs have won just six of their opening 16 Premier League matches and suffered a damaging 3-0 defeat away at Nottingham Forest on Sunday.
According to GIVEMESPORT’s Fabrizio Romano, Frank is now the subject of internal discussions, with the club eager to see rapid improvement after collecting only two league victories from their last nine outings.
Frank arrived in July on a three-year contract following Ange Postecoglou’s dismissal, but patience is already being tested.
